02 · Heat network billing assurance and tariff reviews Bill correctly. Review tariffs honestly. Don't sour the relationship in the process.
A bill is only fair if it is right. We help operators and suppliers get the basics right and show the workings behind every line on the bill.
Five operational disciplines that protect both the revenue and the resident.
Billing assurance
Are your residents being billed correctly? Are the standing charges right? Are the unit rates being applied to the right consumption? We sample, we reconcile, and we give you a percentage answer rather than a hopeful one. Where it isn't right, we tell you exactly which accounts and exactly why.
Revenue reconciliation
Energy in versus energy billed. Heat into the network from the energy centre, against heat charged out at residents' meters. The gap is your unbilled energy. Sometimes it is heat loss, sometimes a meter problem, sometimes a billing error. We help you work out which is which and recover what is recoverable.
Six-monthly and annual tariff reviews
Whether you review tariffs every six months or every twelve, we support the full review: fuel costs in, operating costs in, planned investment in, energy out, and a tariff out the other end that the operator can defend to its board, its regulator and its residents. The output is a tariff letter, a workings sheet and a summary that survives scrutiny.
Bad debt analysis
Where is the bad debt actually coming from? A handful of accounts, a single tower, a group of customers on one tariff? We help you separate hardship from collectable debt, and design recovery approaches that avoid both needless complaints and write-offs that should have been collected.
Meter reading and exception management
Automatic meter reading (AMR), manual reads and bills based on estimates can sit side by side in one estate. We help your team build a routine for working through the list of exceptions, the readings that fail checks, each month so it stops growing.
Ofgem's consumer protection guidance sets out the minimum requirements for billing, and Ofgem's expectations on back-billing, which means billing for heat used in the past. Read what the guidance says about bills
